<li>Physicians who request a serum creatinine test are required to provide all clinical and demographic information needed to calculate the eGFR to the laboratory.</li>

<li>The number of dialysis patients in Texas has more than tripled since 1990. (ESRD Network 14).<sup>2</sup></li>
<li>Diabetes and hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD) are major risk factors for CKD.</li>
<li>CVD is the leading cause of death among  patients with CKD.</li>
<li>Simple laboratory tests can detect CKD at early stages.</li>
<li>Early detection and management of CKD can prevent or delay progression to kidney failure and the need for renal replacement therapy (RRT).</li>
